Blue Northern Energy (BNE) has obtained a distinct innovation for producing biodiesel fuel. The Quicksilver Biodiesel Technology (QSB) is a constant biodiesel production process by the trans-esterification of vegetable oils. Multiple feedstocks may be used, enabling the most affordable cost feedstocks to be utilized. The ability to customize the process constantly, as the feedstocks change by regulating the other reactants to the procedure instead of changing batch recipes, makes it an extremely versatile and more effective process. The process also allows a decrease in capital expense of up to 40% and a decrease in running cost through lower energy expense of up to 30%. These advantages of the technology have been confirmed through a 3rd celebration evaluation completed by the Center for Process Innovation.
